New Way to Sell

Has anyone heard of Swap.com? I am considering trying it out. I am emptying out my closet and have lots of "old" eBay inventory that I'm interested in sending in for a shot ( I don't like threadup....I wrote a review last year I believe) .

They are much like seasonal consignment sales but don't charge quite as much in fees (30% plus a set fee) plus the seller pays for inbound shipping. No pictures, no descriptions, no shipping......https://www.swap.com/

Any thoughts?

  1. Hi there

I just sent my first box to Swap.com
I haven't heard back yet as I think they have up to 60 days to go through it?
I had never heard of it before. I just ready about it on this person's blog.

Seems like the fees have gone up over time.

I hope it is a good avenue to sell things.

    1. I hope so. I sent one in like 2 days after posting this. Mostly NWT stuff sitting in donation/yard sale piles. Hopefully it turns out well. Make sure to come back and tell me how you did :D (I'm pretty sure that blog is where I read a review as well!)

  2. I sent a box full of nice items to swap. I sell on eBay and these were items that I'd had for awhile. I thought I could just send them in and make a few bucks an item. I sent in 40ish items and they accepted 3. They said the rest had an odor. I made $0 after they took out shipping fees and wasn't willing to pay the price to have anything shipped back. I only send undamaged items and cleaned them prior to sending in (I only sent in machine washable items). I can see missing a flaw or two but having 37 stinky items that had already been washed?! The brands weren't great but they said they accepted lower end brands as well. I was really unhappy and wouldn't use them again. If they had an odor it was from sitting in a stinky warehouse for 2 months before they even looked at them. I hope it goes better for you!

    1. Wow, that really makes me nervous as I sent a lot of really good things, all new tags. Ugh. I guess I will see.

I am sorry you had that experience.

    2. One huge plus is that they do give you the chance to pay to get your stuff back. I just didn't want any of it because it was lower brands than I normally sell. I know a lot of people who have had great experiences so I don't know what happened with mine. Maybe they didn't like my laundry detergent smell :D. I can't wait to see how it goes!

    3. Wow that sucks Maggie! I think I sent in the same amount of stuff....I hope they take more than 3. I was amused though I went to send in a NWT ($200 retail) 5 pc suit I haven't been able to send in on eBay then realized they will reject it as sets can't have more than 3 pieces. Oh well. I guess if the whole thing gets lost its no worse for the wear. (If you want real horror stories look up their employee reviews they rival those who worked at the FBA warehouses!)
